How it all began...
Secure Testing Services, LLC was formed in July of 2015 one early morning in Richmond, VA. With one child starting college and another soon to be starting, Steve was looking for a small "side-gig" to support both of his children's college aspirations. Steve answered an obscure online advertisement that was seeking a specimen collector for a national railway company with routes that included the Richmond, Virginia area.
The position entailed sitting at a train station for hours at a time once a week, mostly in the middle of the night, performing drug and alcohol tests. During his downtime he wondered what the market was for this type of service. Drawing on his background in sales and business development, those long hours in the middle of night turned into a great opportunity to perform due diligence on the industry, contact potential partners and perform competitive intelligence on who his competitors would be.
Steve then "reverse-engineered" a business plan based on the need in the market and STS was born. That business plan filled a void in the industry, and the rest as they say, is history.
